Chiropractic adjustments are specific corrections made to the spine to correct subluxations. Subluxations are a combination of factors that lead to nerve irritation and joint dysfunction that ultimately lead to pain or abnormal spinal movements. When corrected, the body will release a local prohormone containing endorphins and enkephalins which aide in inhibiting pain fibers. These are our natural pain blockers.
E-stem utilizes electricity and pads placed on the body to promote muscle relaxation, reduce pain and promote tissue healing.
Stretch & Exercise
Chiropractic and “passive” therapies like E-stem, often need to be accompanied by stretches and exercises.
Stretches promote relaxation of the tissue, thus increase elasticity and free movement within the tissue.
Exercises are utilized to stabilize and strengthen muscles and tendons and are performed by resistance training. Examples would be squats or abdominal crunches for core strength.
When combined, these two prescriptive exercises and stretches can offer a host of benefits for overall health.
